Alignment: Celtic Deities apply. Dagda, Brighid, Lugh, Morrigan, Cernunnos. Any alignment.
Class Skills:
Alchemy, Climb, Concentration, Craft, Diplomacy, Gather Information, Handle Animal, Heal, Intimidate, Intuit Direction, Knowledge(all), Profession, Scry, Sense Motive, Spellcraft, Swim, Wilderness Lore. All the rest except skills exclusive to other classes are cross class.
Skill Points 4 + Int modifier (x4 at first level)

Class Features: 1d6 HP
Armor and Weapon Proficiency:
Proficient with Light armor
Proficient with Staff, club, dagger, dart, javelin, half, long and short spear, sickle, and sling. Oaths do NOT prevent other weapon use

Divine Abilities:
The Ovate is responsible for understanding the mysteries of death and rebirth, for transcending time, diving the future, conversing with the ancestors, traveling beyond the grave to bring Augury and consul to those still living on earth, doctor, detective, and seer.
The Oaths require non combatant stance in Celtic tribe disputes. The oaths stress Leadership/guidance over combat. Combat is meant for the tribal warriors. To maintain power the Ovate must follow the seasonal solstices with religious ceremony.
Spells: Bonus Spells are added from the Wisdom chart however, DC is calculated with the Charisma modifier. Pray for like cleric, has access to cleric spell list plus all divination spells(mage/ranger/druid/paladin). Can do spontaneous healing. The Ovate gains access to the clerical domain spells and granted powers corresponding to the Knowledge domain. Domain spells must be from Knowledge. (1st level spell is True Strike vs Detect Secret Doors) (Spells not allowed: no Elementals, no summoning, no necromancy except healing/raise, no conjuration, nothing referring to undead)
Beyond the grave: The Ovate may attempt to cast Augury(Lvl 2), Speak with Dead**( Lvl 3), Divination(Lvl 4), Commune(Lvl 5), or Commune with Nature(Lvl 5), or Contact other plane(Ancestor’s plane only- Lvl 5) as a supernatural ability.
Chance of Success: 100%- 10% * every level below Level that could normally cast spell.

  • If attempting to talk to ancestor do not need body, and spell does contact actual spirit.

Bonus Feats:
Knowledge(death and afterlife) +1 rank/per level free skill points, Automatic 1 rank in Knowledge: Nature, Celtic Life, Astrology, & Religion,
Auto Search as elf, Spell Focus Divination, Skill Focus Sense Motive
Brew Potions at 3rd, Skill Focus Scry at 7th , Zone of Truth at 5, 11, 17th level. Zone of truth effective level for DC equals class/2.
While in Grove gains + 1 level. Gains +1 all rolls when near any Yew tree.
Languages: Same as normal Ovate + Ogma. Limited written alphabet. Cannot make scrolls. Scribe scroll Forbidden.
